This project started during a visit to a library without the right library card. Then a thought popped into my head:
"Wouldn't it be easier if Sydney had just one library card?"
Then I decided to explore how it would look.
1. Ideation
First, I created a basic brand concept and tried it out on a few applications.
This was a good start, however it had some issues; the chevron isn't very relevant to the card's purpose, and isn't very memorable.
So I decided to take another pass at the design.
Concept 2
This version certainly is more eye-grabbing, but at small sizes, it doesn't work well, and it projects a mood that doesn't match that of any library in Sydney.
So I tried again, with Concept 3.
Here, the brand revolves around the 'spark' symbol representing a spark of knowledge, and the 'S' in SydneyCard.
